Elizabeth G. Bell (December 3, 1916 - June 11, 2006)

Who can find a Virtuous Woman? God graced us with a true one. Elizabeth G. Bell, affectionately known as "Queen Elizabeth" and "Nana" was born December 3, 1916 in Oil City, Pennsylvania to the late Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Paul. She attended The Church of God in Christ where she received salvation and was later baptized. As a young girl she was afflicted with many bone diseases such as Polio and Rickets leading to many surgeries on her legs. She never complained and endured constant pain. Queen Elizabeth graduated from High School and was class Valedictorian.  The Lord led Queen Elizabeth to Detroit Michigan where she attended Lewis College of Business. Mom Bell gave birth to 3 beautiful daughters; Sandra, Denise and Lorraine. God later gave her a son in Sandra's husband, John or Joe as she called him who is now Pastor of Pine Grove M. B. C. To provide for her children, Mom Bell worked tediously eventually settling down as a Practical Nurse at the Howell State Hospital in Howell, Michigan where she retired from.  After retirement, her Faith Journey led her to join her Daughter, Sandra in Cleveland, Ohio. Mom Bell joined the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church and served faithfully as a Missionary, Pastor's Aid and eventually Church Mother. Mom Bell made sure to mail Church Bulletins to all the "Sick and Shut-Ins", faithfully. It was during her membership at St. Paul when she became active in the Progressive Baptist District. Sis. Beatrice Bates appointed her to be the Secretary of the Deaconess.  Mother Bell's health began to fail her but her Faith Journey continued! When Mom Bell's Son and Daughter were led to join Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church in 1998, she followed them. Later this year she was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease and had 3 strokes. In 1999, her condition worsened and her body shut down on her. For health reasons she was moved to the Suburban Pavilion Nursing Home. Mom Bell had a dear friend and roommate, Ms. Bess Edwards whom went on to glory, several months ago. On Sunday, (Mom Bell's favorite day of the week) the Lord saw our Queen was tired and as she held her Candy's Precious hand she answers His call, smiled one last time and passed from labor to reward. Her favorite scripture was also her testimony; "But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, His Son cleanses us from all sin." 1John 1:7   Mother Bell leaves to cherish her memory, 3 Loving Daughters, Sandra whom she called "Candy", Denise "Niecy" and Lorraine "Rainy" she has 7 Grandchildren, Kevin, Derrick, Todd, Devrone, Sonya, Dane and Stephanie; 21 Great-Grandchildren, one of whom preceded her in death, 'Nevaeh and 5 Great - Great Grandchildren.
