Jimmy Johnson

During the time I was pregnant with Jimmy, he would just continually kick the inside of my stomach all the time.  When Lil’ Jimmy was born, he came out looking just like his father, but he had his mother’s hands and feet.  He had a whole lot of hair on his head and body.  Jimmy never did like for the doctors to touch him, he was very stubborn.  Jimmy also didn’t like too much noise, especially when the oxygen monitor alarm would go off.  When I would touch my baby boy he felt his mother’s presence and love, for he knew that I would be there for him every step of the way.  I remember one of the happiest moments of my life: after Jimmy had woke up from sleeping and saw that I was watching him; he gave me the most beautiful smile ever.  Of course there were a couple of times he would cry after looking at me.  When my mother and I would go to the hospital to see Jimmy, I would normally stand in front of his incubator and my mother would say, “I wish you would move Venus so I can see my baby.”  And I said, “You mean my baby!” and then we began to laugh.  My mother always said that Jimmy was her baby and I was always saying “no, that’s my baby!”  I loved and cared about Jimmy with all my heart, which is the reason why I spent most of my time sitting at the hospital everyday by his side.  Now that my baby is gone, I think about everything he did.  But one thing I remember most is he never stayed still and he loved to move around a lot.  One day he moved so much he pulled his oxygen cords out of his mouth.  I know it seems sad now, but I’ll never forget the day Jimmy passed away in my arms.  On that day I was able to bath him, lotion his smooth skin, comb his hair and get him dressed.  He was very peaceful when he entered into The Kingdom of Heaven.  I just sat holding him in my arms wishing he was still here with me, but God wanted him - it was his time to go home and rest in peace.  I love you Jimmy with all my heart.  I hope you see your sister in heaven.  Heaven now has two seeds of mine - a prince and a princess.

Lois Ann Jones (May 15, 1931 - December 16, 2006)

Sheila Jones (January 26, 1947 - June 6, 2007)

On January 26, 1947, Shelia Sharp Jones was born to Gloria and Herbert Sharp.  According to legend, and with pictures to back it up, Sheila was a bald and ugly baby.  However, that soon changed as she grew into a toddler.  She became known around the Kinsman Avenue community where she grew up as the cute little girl with the waist length braids.  By the early 1960’s, to a Motown backdrop, Sheila met and eventually married Robert Jones.  When she was expecting her first child, Sheila allowed her younger sister, Rita, to name her children.  Rita thought it would be a good idea if she named her nephews after herself.  When Sheila was 16, her youngest sister Chatty was born.  Since Sheila was so much older, she became a “Supplemental Mother” to Chatty, rather than a big sister.  It was then that “SheShe” began her training for what she loved most – being a mother to everyone.  The next year, her own bundle of joy arrived – ReDon followed by her son Rico.  SheShe then began taking various jobs and finally settled in at Stouffer’s (Nestle).  She retired early after 25 years to become a caregiver for her father, David Marshall, who died in January 2007.  Sheila’s association with Stouffer’s is the main reason that it’s famous macaroni and cheese would be found in abundance at every family spread, holiday party and cook-out of the Jones clan.  It is while at Nestle, that she met her “bestest” friend Deborah Jackson.  Sheila loved children.  She had an unconditional love for children.  She fed children.  She clothed children.  She drove children.  She spoiled children.  But mostly, she loved children and they loved her back!  It was rare to see her alone.  When you saw her you knew you would also be hearing the pitter-patter of four to six sets of additional feet.  She was “The Pied Piper of Park Heights.”  She marched through Dollar stores and Marc’s with kids in tow.  She had found a way to combine her three favorite things: kids, shopping and food.  She loved to shop for food, prepare food, cook food and her personal motto, “why just eat when you could turn it into a party?”  And if there was a party then it was time to go shopping for more party clothes for all the kids.  SheShe could always be spotted with her brood of well-dressed, well-fed kids preparing for the next party or cookout.  There is not one among us that has not experienced SheShe’s generosity.  It was almost as if Sheila were our own personal Genie.  Our wish was her command.  She knew our favorites, our favorite foods, our favorite colors and our beverage of choice.  She always made sure we had an over abundance of the things we liked.  All we had to do was to mention it and Sheila found a way to get it for us.  She filled our baskets, our trunks, and our closets with her love gifts.  Sheila didn’t believe that anyone could have too much of a good thing.  For those rare adult times, SheShe loved visiting Arizona.  She loved being in the sum and enjoying the setting of Norvee’s tranquil backyard.  But even while in Arizona she still managed to talk daily to her other sister “Auntie Gino” (Lugenia Washington) and her “bestest”friend “Auntie Deb” (Deborah Jackson).  The lines of SheShe’s descendants get blurred.  She was “mama” to her nieces, grandmother to her nephews and she had a nickname for most of them.  She is survived by: Tino (Abby), Jazz, Jocelyn, Paco, Jordan, Remy, Gigi, TJ, Shane, Madora, Angie, Muffy, Champer, Burt, Jeremy, Kayla, Vega, Ashley, Brooke, Jeep, Camo, Nicky, Alexia, Linda, Lamonte, Noravee, Deandra, Gator and Puffy and every special person whose life she touched.

Stanford Lamarr Collins Jones (April 5, 1964 - October 1, 2004)

Stanford L. Collins Jones' wilderness experience begins by acknowledging the sin that was within me. I met and fell head over heels in love in the flesh with Edward L. Beard at the first sight of him. Later Stanford Lamarr Collins was born. Stan loved his dad. Ed now deceased died a long time ago.  Through much prayer, belief and repentance to our amazing GOD the Father. The gospel of JESUS, GOD the SON was presented. Our amazing GOD through his amazing grace, GOD sent us a Saint. Saint Andrew Jones, Jr. a Godly man in pursuit of GOD'S heart and mine became the joy in our lives. Married in October, 1971, Stanford was adopted by Saint.  It is comforting to know that JESUS the CHRIST, the CHRIST GOD the Son is the life within GOD the father and that belief in his resurrection and the blood that he shed washed my sins away. Quickened, cleansed connected with GOD the Father, Son and Holy Ghost as one opened my understanding of GOD my Father and his amazing Grace.  GOD promises, he that believeth on him is not condemned but he that believeth not is condemned already because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of GOD. Neither is there Salvation in any other for there is none other name under heaven given among men where by we must be saved.  Stanford the child begotten through the gospel, accepted CHRIST'S invitation, ye must be born again. He developed an early awareness and presence of GOD'S activity in the word of GOD, which he studied, shutting himself in the comfort of his own room. Fasting praying learning the Character of GOD.  Thank GOD for so great a foundation, which could not be shaken when, the storms of life, are raging.  Stan the man began to show evidence that he desired to venture into the satanic world of darkness where Satan's evil unclean spirits dwell. Evil was given to rise in his body and brought forth evil desires that destroy the body, mind and soul through drugs, alcohol and immorality the lust of the flesh which changes the glory of GOD the uncorruptible GOD into and image made like corruptible man.  Stan's brief encounters with unclean spirits not only in all white schools where he found subtle mental abuse but among "friends" who used his name and Stan became convicted of a crime he did not commit and served time.  Picked up, beaten up by police-"accidentally" sent to Lima Correctional Institution for the criminally insane for one day. Where his body was carved repeatedly with a sharp knife they said they were playing a game with him.  Saint and I got there the next day, threatened political awareness and before we arrived in Cleveland Stan was already here calling for us on a public telephone from Chester Avenue.  Thanks be to GOD Stan's father for so firm a foundation in him. For this brief wilderness experience, this light affliction. By faith JESUS interceded and removed them all.  Thank you Jesus for the blood that you shed to make the wounded whole you the Balm in Gilead to heal the sin-sick soul. And, now I lay me down to sleep Stan slept and continues to Sleep.  Thank you GOD for allowing Stan to receive the promise of your eternal life and inheritance through GOD the Son Jesus the resurrection of CHRIST. The Holy Spirit leads God's Glorification. An GOD is Pleased.
