Faith Elizabeth
Vaughn-McKinney
(January 9, 1937
- September 9,
2005)
Faith
Elizabeth Vaughn-McKinney (nee Nelson) was born on January 9, 1937 to
Margaret and William Nelson in New Castle, Pennsylvania. She journeyed
home to be with the Lord on September 9, 2005. Her mother, father and
son Clayton Vaughn preceded her in death. Faith lived every moment
of her life to the fullest. She thoroughly enjoyed people and people
enjoyed her. The various positions she held throughout her life
reflected both her love of people and her love of life. Her most recent
occupation in furniture sales at Kaufmanns will never be forgotten. She
set records in the department that were hard to beat! Her father used
to say "She could sell ice boxes to Eskimos and a crippled cricket a
crutch." It was a trait she inherited from him. Miss Faith's (as she was
known to many) home was always open to family and friends. Many a
picnic was held in the backyard, many a holiday and birthday were
celebrated and just plain old get-togethers brought joy to the attendees
as well as to the hostess. Those left to cherish
memories of Faith include daughter, Estella (Percy) Vaughn-Nichols;
brothers, Bobby (Emma) Nelson and Roger (Brenda) Nelson; sisters, Ina
(George) Coates, Mattie Scales and Charity Knox-Nelson; eight
grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews,
other loving relatives and friends.
