Carolyn
Juanita Baker was born on February 23, 1921 in Knoxville, Tennessee
to the loving union of Hugh and Della (nee McGee) Baker.
Carolyn accepted Christ into her life at an early age. She
was educated in the Knoxville Public School System. After
completing her nurse’s training, she worked as a Registered Nurse in
Louisville, Kentucky for close to forty years.
Carolyn was a very sociable woman with many friends. She
enjoyed gardening and was very “motherly” in the care of her nephews
during the summers. She was a great cook and her special Christmas
cookies and homemade wine laced fruitcakes will surely be missed by
all!
On Friday, May 9, 2008, Carolyn departed this life. She is
preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Geraldine and
Henry Steele; brother, Roy Baker; niece, Mildred Steele Hackler;
and nephew, Wesley Steele.
Those left to mourn and to cherish her memory include nephews
Hugh (Bertha) Steele, Alfred Steele, Henry Steele, Kenneth Steele,
and Roy (Susie) Steele; as well as a host of great-nieces,
great-nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
