Our
loving Mother, Ida Evangeline Graham, was born on December 11, 1933
in Prudence, West Virginia to the late Mr. and Mrs. William and
Bertha Scruggs. She departed this life on June 29, 2008.
Ida
acquired her formal education through the West Virginia public
school system. She began her young adult life in Cleveland, Ohio.
She accepted Christ later on in life at Traveler’s Rest Baptist
Church in Cleveland, Ohio.
Ida was a
dedicated employee at Metro General Hospital as a Cook where
everyone raved about her delicious soup recipes, but we all knew her
for her spectacular Ginger Bread.
She
enjoyed traveling, cooking and reading and she was an avid Cleveland
Indians fan. Above all, she was a devoted and loyal mother,
grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a life-long friend to
Mrs. Eula Garrett and Mrs. Lucy Brown. She will be remembered for
her listening ear, outspoken personality and the love she showed to
everyone who knew her. Her strongest legacy was that family always
remain close!
Ida
leaves to cherish her memory her six children, Marion (Punchie),
Gwendolyn, Yvonne, Derek, Angela and Keyonn; thirteen grandchildren,
twenty-two great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; three
sisters, Beulah Fleshman, Marie Turner, and Beverly Wiley; one
brother Marion Scruggs (Maxine); a host of nephews, nieces, cousins
and friends.
