Evelyn was born on July 31, 1918 in West Middlesex, Pennsylvania to the union of Frank and Ophelia (nee Prince) Harden. 

She received her education in West Middlesex and later moved to Cleveland, Ohio.

In 1973, Evelyn was joined in matrimony to Walker Gunn. 

For many years, she was employed by Marsol Towers.  In addition, she had been an active member of Hatcher Chapel AME Church in Cleveland until failing health left her homebound.

On Friday, April 23, 2010, she was called home to be with the Master.  She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and other family members.

Those left to mourn and to cherish her memories include her son, Reven Gunn; two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Porter and Mrs. Pauline Woodson of South Euclid, Ohio; four grandchildren; ten nieces and nephews; as well as other relatives and friends.
