
Mrs.
Lois M. Cannon Hailey was born on December 8, 1932 to the late Annie
B. Meals and Maxie Cannon. She departed this life on April 10,
2008.
She accepted Christ at a early age while
in Athens, Alabama. He formal education was acquired through
Trinity High School in Athens, Alabama.
Lois was united in Holy Matrimony to
Earl Hargrove, Sr., in October of 1949 and to this union four
children were born, Earl Jr., Jacqueline, Debra and Michelle.
Later, she married Wilson J. Hailey who preceded her in death.
This union was blessed with one child, Jerome Hailey.
After extensive traveling to various
states, Lois decided to settle in Cleveland, Ohio where she enjoyed
being a homemaker, having a special love for taking care of her
children. She enjoyed the company of family and friends and
loved to visit her home of Athens, Alabama. Some of her
additional enjoyments were sewing, playing cards, watching baseball
and socializing.
She had a passion for cooking and was
very happy to spend time with he grandchildren, as they were a joy
to her.
Lois battled several illnesses, but the
love that she had for her children gave her strength to fight
despite her pain. After acquiring the comfort that her
children would be alright, she found peace in going home to be with
the Lord.
Left to carry her legacy are five
children, Earl Jr., Jacqueline (Robert) Mack, Debra Sue, Macy
Michelle, and Jerome (Tameka); eleven grandchildren, eleven
great-grandchildren; three sisters, Josie (TS) Prewitt of Columbus,
OH, Berniece (David) Clinton of Madison, AL, Frances (Spival) Darvy
of Rockford, IL; two brothers, Maxie Jr. and William (Nettie
Rose); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
