 Heath, Anthony

Anthony Heath was born on February 1, 1927 in Great Falls, South Carolina to the loving union of John and Lula (nee Ferguson) Heath.

Anthony received his early education in South Carolina and, at an early age, accepted Christ into his life.

On June 12, 1944, at the age of seventeen, Anthony entered the United States Army and was Honorably Discharged on February 19, 1945.

For a while, Anthony lived in Buffalo, New York and in the early 1960's he decided to make Cleveland, Ohio his home. Not long after moving to Cleveland, Anthony met and married the former Eva Geraldine Hairston. Together, the couple raised three daughters - Lisa, Debra and Geraldine.

Anthony was self-employed for many years in the area of home improvements and remodeling. He was a very family oriented man whose favorite saying was “communication is a beautiful thing!”

On Saturday, April 26, 2008, Anthony departed this life. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John and Eddie Heath; sisters, Lizzie Mae Bailey and Lillie Bell Kennedy; and one grandchild, Rivera.

Those left to mourn and to cherish his memories include his wife, Eva Geraldine Heath; daughters, Lisa Hairston Clark (Phillip), Debra Hairston and Geraldine Hairston Hodge (Michael); sister Christine Walker (George); grandchildren, Andrew, Gabriel and Mecca; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Hairston, Alvin Hairston and Lenard Hairston; sisters-in-law, Connie Lambert and Carolyn Moore; as well as other loving relatives and friends.
