
Allean
C. Heggie was born on September 1, 1912. She was one of twelve
children born to the union of Rev. Calvin and Rotha (nee McDaniel)
Owens in Oaksville, Alabama.
Allean confessed her
faith in Christ at an early age and joined Oaksville Missionary
Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. E. J. Moore.
She also attended school in Oaksville.
She later moved to
Cleveland where she continued her education in cosmetology. Allean
owned and operated “Allean’s House of Beauty” until her retirement
and her hobbies included sewing, baking and crocheting.
Allean was united in
holy matrimony to Bramat Heggie. She later joined Morelight
Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor William
Rutledge.
On Saturday, June 21,
2008, Allean departed this life at Judson Park Nursing Home. She is
preceded in death by her parents; by her husband; as well as by her
siblings, Mackey, Jackson, Lennie, Lula, Missouri, Ethel, Verna,
Maggie, Calvin and Lemon.
Those left to mourn
her passing and to cherish her memories include Robert L. Howard
whom she raised as her son, his son Robin Howard, one sister Opal
Willispoon, and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives
and friends.
