 Hereford, Christopher

Christopher Hereford affectionately known as "Chris" was born in Cleveland, Ohio on June 27, 1955 to Nancy Crutcher and Clarence Wilkins.  Both parents preceded him in death.

Chris acknowledged a Christian experience through our Lord and Savior during his tender years while attending Mount Sinai Baptist Church.  Although he never officially joined, he was planted by the still waters thirsting for the Christian belief of knowing, hearing and loving the word of God for himself.  Chris attended East Technical High School in Cleveland, Ohio.  Life was dear and special for Chris and he enjoyed it to the fullest.  He especially loved sports, his favorite was boxing.  He was a lover of music, singing and dancing, and he enjoyed old school, hand dancing, in high school he was like the dancing machine.  He also loved to dress;  he was sharp and was always matching from head to toe.  If you knew Christ, you could count on being included in an Improv moment while in his company.  His best imitations were mocking his brother, Lee and his brother-in-law, Michael, but he could do them all, coming and going.  His favorite saying to his siblings, Tiny and Elaine were "Shut Up your mouth" and to Pheenie "Hey there Girl!"  He was an open comedian, who could keep you laughing hysterically by naturally telling jokes as only Chris could in his own witty way and then turn into a total gentleman.  He had his own sayings which he was faithful to such as "You in there" or "alrighty then".  Needless to say, his sense of humor kept everyone in stitches.  Chris wore a smile of confidence and he lived to make his family and friends smile.  Chris' love for family was unconditional, and he always were there to embrace and serve the family whenever needed.  He also loved and adored his dog "Chocolate" who had become one of the best friends during their long walks and talks at the hours.

Chris was employed at Hillcrest Hospital for nearly 10 years and lastly he worked for a local Laundromat before his illness took its toll.  His job at the Laundromat, kept him busy, but he still found a way to keep people laughing and listening to his jokes, making their laundry loads lighter through laughter, they gravitated to his personality.  He leaves his loving wife and best friend Linda of fifteen years.  Together they shared many good times loving one another dearly in their comfort and bond.  As Chris would have her to know is his leaving Linda you were my Wife, Friend and Lovely Lady for all times."

Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Clevonia; Lawrence C. Douglas "LC" and one sister-in-law, Jeanette.

Chris went home to be with the Lord on April 21, 2008.

Chris' memories will be cherished forever by his loving wife Linda Nunn-Hereford forever; one brother, Lenoia "Lee";  four sisters, Octavia "Tiny" Bettye, Bertia "Pheenie" (Michael) Woodard and Elaine (Bobby) Copeland;  three children, Christopher, Darrisa and Christopher; two stepsons, Terence and Daryl; eight grandchildren, Diamond, Daysia, Destinay, Dezyre, Channel, Darcie, DaNyia, Christianna and Kristene; and a host of other relatives and many treasured friends.
