
Roseola
Hewlett-Jones was born on May 10, 1947 in Cleveland, Ohio and was
the fifth child born to the union of Frank and Phoebe White Jones.
Rose accepted Christ
at an early age and was baptized by Rev. E. D. Small, Pastor of
Starlight Missionary Baptist Church. She graduated from East High
School and later earned her Associates Degree from Cuyahoga
Community College. She obtained her Cosmetology license in the
early 70’s and owned and operated her own salon for many years. She
also owned and operated a rental business, Rosey Rentals. Over the
years she was employed with RTA, Cleveland Board of Education and
retired from Uptown Security System as a Security Guard in 2008.
Roseola was united
in Holy Matrimony to the late Thornton Jones. This union was blessed
with three children: Phoebe, Genmilla and Laura.
On April 28, 2010,
Roseola was summoned by her Father in Heaven from her pain and
suffering. She is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters,
Earlene Jones and Johnnie F. Maulden.
Those left to mourn
and to cherish her memory include her daughters, Phoebe T. Jones,
Genmilla (Darnel) Exum Jones, and Laura Jones; ten grandchildren,
Audrey D. Jones, Craig S. Abercrombie, Jr., Nicole Abercrombie,
Fatima A. N. Jones, Toyreon Exum, Shyra N. Bender, Carmilita Malvea,
and DeAngelo G. Jones; nine great-grandchildren, Admari Jones,
Nicolas Jones, Craig Abercrombie III, Rihana N. Abercrombie,
Kimorion D. Abercrombie, King J. Abercrombie, Cameron Jones and
Daniel Exum; six sisters, Ruth Henderson, Johnette (Raymond) Hinson,
Willet Jones, Kathleen (Timothy) Johnson of McDonough, Georgia,
Jacqueline (Eddie) Smith, Debra Ann Brewster; as well as a host of
aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
