 Johnson, C D

Mr. C. D. Johnson was born on March 22, 1923 to Willie Johnson and Charlotte Sims-Johnson in Florence, Mississippi. He received his education at New Hope Public School in Florence and was baptized at New Hope Baptist Church at an early age.

He married Emma Jefferson on November 11, 1941. To this union, two daughters were born, Bobbie Jean and JoAnn.

C. D. was a World War II Veteran, a loving husband, father, and caring grandfather. He considered his family to be his treasure and always gave his love, energy and time to them. His sensitive, forebearing character and distinctive whistle will be missed. C. D. also retired from the VA Hospital as a Chef after thirty-five years. His hobbies were playing cards and fishing. Everyone loved and respected him. His greatest joy was taking his great-granddaughter, Dominique, to breakfast every weekend.

He was a man of many talents. He loved to help anyone that needed help. He will be sadly missed. We love you Dad.

C. D. departed his life on Thursday, July 11, 2008 at 12:30a.m. at Hospice Care Center of Cleveland, Ohio. He is preceded in death by five brothers, B. W. Johnson, S. D.
