
John
Edward Lambert was born on July 29, 1933 in Mebane, North Carolina
to Clifford and Lillie Mae Lambert (Jones).
John accepted Christ
at an early age and was baptized at Melfield United Church of
Alamance County North Carolina. He was educated in the Alamance
County School System. He was employed by Allega Cement Contractor
until his retirement.
John relocated to
Cleveland, Ohio in 1956 where he met Lula Marie Smith and to this
union three children were born. He joined the Eagle Wing Baptist
Church under the leadership of the late Henry O. Maxwell. He later
joined the Beulah Baptist Church under the pastorship of Dr. A. E.
Williams, where he attended faithfully until death.
On August 20, 1970
John was united in marriage to Barbara Gibson and to this union one
son was born.
On Wednesday March
24, 2010, John departed this life. He is preceded in death by his
parents; a son, John Clifford; as well as brothers Charles Jones and
George Jones.
Those left to mourn
and to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Barbara; one
daughter, Melanie; four sons, Damon, Roderick (Jackie), Darrell
(Salina), and Yancy (Marcie); one sister, Sharon Jones; one brother,
James Jones; mother-in-law, Ethel Gibson; four sisters-in-law,
Charlene Dawkins, Cynthia Johnson, Patricia Gibson, and Jeanette
Jones; one brother-in-law, Carl (Donna) Gibson; sixteen
grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews;
as well as a host of other loving relatives and friends.
