
Mr.
Roosevelt McCann was born March 12, 1933 and departed this life
February 16, 2010 at his residence in Cleveland, Ohio.
He was baptized in Mississippi at an
early age. He was born in the union of Mallie M. and Irene
Smith-McCann in Acquilla, Alabama.
Mr. McCann worked for many years with
Great Lakes Construction Company. He was well respected by
management and peers and retired from this company in 1998. In the
same year he started his own business and was very successful.
Those preceded him in death; his Father
Mallie McCann, Mother Irene Smith-McCann, Brother Prentiss McCann,
Sister Juire V Jackson, Daughter Elvaina K. Gibson (Vickey), a
Grandson Artie D Fairley Sr., and a niece, Sharon Jackson-Mosley.
Those left to cherish his memories are
four daughters; Sharon Fairley (Cleveland, OH), Verjester Fairley
(Atlanta, GA), Tracie Barnes (Atlanta, GA) and Angela Michelle
Taylor (Greensboro, AL). Two sons; Steven W. (Sara) McCann (San
Jacinto, CA) and Vincent Lamar Peters (New Orleans, LA). One step
son, Sedrick (Aleta) Wright (Mobile, AL).
He had eleven Grandchildren; Lakita
Jessie Reanylon, Fairley Tamika Kelly, Leah McCann, Paige McCann,
and four Grandsons; Charles Kimbell, Jesse Fairley Sr. (Tomesha),
Freddyie Curry and Jeremiah Taylor, Stacy (Michael) James, Felish,
Cameron, Danielle, and Sedrick Jr.
He had nine Great Grandchildren Monica
McCann-Piper Jesse “mister” Fairley, Jesse Fairley Jr., Jawaun
Fairley and Artie D Fairley Jr., Dorian, Shania, Shanaa James and
Jakari.
He leaves a loving companion, Charlene
Griggs in Cleveland, Ohio, a long time friend, Georgia Wright in
Mobile, Alabama, One Sister-in-Law; Ceola McCann and countless
relatives, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
