Johnny Boswell McClain was born on February 7, 1940 in Troy, Alabama to the union of John McClain and Mamie Byrd.

On Wednesday, April 23, 2008, Johnny departed this life.  He is preceded in death by his parents as well as by siblings Willie Ed McClain, Alphonzo McClain, Fletcher McClain, R.B. McClain, Babe Ruth McClain, Gussre McClain and Alfred McClain.

Those left to mourn and to cherish his memory include his loving wife Denise McClain;  children, Kasonja (Vernell) Day, Karla McClain, Cynthia McClain, Roslyn McClain, Allison McClain and John McClain;  stepchildren, David McClain, Marc Cunningham and Latasha Kinney;  sisters Pearline George and Mamie Jean (Willie Jo) Carter; brother, Mervin (Anise) McClain;  nineteen grandchildren;  twenty-two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; mother-in-law Jessie Kinney;  sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
