Margaret R. Meacham was born on May 23, 1928 in Akron, Ohio to the union of Boyce and Maud (nee Burgan) Rookard.

Margaret graduated from the Akron Public School System and entered the work force soon thereafter. In addition, she met and married Charles Meacham.

Margaret had a yearning to become an educator. She returned to school where she earned a Bachelors Degree from Kent State and later went on to earn a Masters Degree. She became an elementary school teacher in the Cleveland Public School System from which she later retired.

While in college, Margaret had become a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. She had also been a longtime member of St. James AME Church in Cleveland, Ohio.

On Saturday, March 6, 2010, Margaret departed this life peacefully at her home. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, as well as by her siblings.

Those left to mourn and to cherish her memories include her dear friend, Josephine Henderson; in-laws; and friends.
