

Margaret Shirley
Sims was born on December 5, 1946 in Cleveland, Ohio to the union of
Arthur Brown and Mary Bell Brown. She was the eldest of three
children born to this union.
Margaret grew up in
Cleveland and attended Cleveland Extension High School where she
excelled in swimming and typing. She went on to graduate in 1965.
In 1966, Margaret
was joined in Holy Matrimony to William L. Sims and later became
widowed in 1979. Margaret later met her fiancé, Mitchell Rogers,
and the two enjoyed each other until her passing.
Margaret landed her
first job at a bank and later joined the Cuyahoga County Juvenile
Justice Center where she retired in 2008. She enjoyed traveling,
bowling, and enjoying her family. Margaret was known to be soft
spoken and kind to all who met her. Her children and grandchildren
were her first priority and joy. She will always be remembered for
her love and gentleness to her family.
Margaret went home
to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 10, 2010. Those family
members who have preceded her include her mother, daughter
Kimberley, and brother Troy W. Bell.
Those left to mourn
and to cherish her memories include her loving fiancé, Mitchell
Rogers; her three daughters, Rachelle, Michelle, and Sheila;
siblings, Thomas E. Brown and Victoria Brown; grandchildren, Evan
Sims, Natasha Shields, Carlos Sims, Morris King, Jr., Rachellette
McKissack, and Tommy McKissack, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Evan Sims,
Jr., and Avontae Sims; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends.
