Roland Donald Thornton Jr., age 81, beloved son of the late Roland Donald Thornton Sr. and Naomi Graves of Williamsport, Pennsylvania, reunited brother to the late Gaynelle Thornton Abrams, the loving husband of Alverta Moss Thornton, devoted father to Rita Gordon, Roland R. Thornton, Denise Jackson, Marilyn Flowers, and Debra Golson, and the cherished grandfather of 14 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, respected Christian, friend, humanitarian, and warrior for God to many, went home to be with his father, mother, sister, and savior, Jesus Christ on January 27, 2010.

Roland was a son, a brother, a soldier, a husband, a father, a machinist, a salesman, a preacher, and a teacher for God.  He was all of these labels and more, but most of all he was loved and he will be missed.
