
Ada
Mae Wade was born on November 30, 1935 in Americus, Georgia to the
union of John Cowell and Margie Lee Ford.
Ada accepted Christ into her life at an early age and received her
formal school education while still in Georgia. In 1956, she moved
to Cleveland, Ohio where she was united in Holy Matrimony to Henry
Wade, Jr. To their union, four children were born - Debra, Harold,
Henry III and Tabatha.
Ada was a very outgoing as well as outspoken woman. She loved to be
the center of attention and when she entered a room it would just
light up! She was an avid traveler and very active in area politics
where she served as a poll worker and as a precinct committee
worker. Ada loved to cook and her home was the center of many
family activities. She enjoyed being a mentor to those in the
community and was always there to lend a helping hand to those in
need. Ada was also a faithful member of Greater Mt. Zion Baptist
Church were she served until failing health no longer allowed her
to.
On Tuesday, December 29, 2009, Ada departed this life and is
preceded in death by her parents as well as by her stepdaughter,
Juanita McMillan.
Those left to mourn and to cherish her memory include her loving
husband, Henry Wade, Jr.; children, Debra (Tommy) Shaw, Harold
Kenneth (Brenda) Wade, Henry Harold (Brandie) (Wendy) Wade III, and
Tabatha Wade (Louis) Collier; stepchildren, Patsy Allen, Donald
(Shirley) Wade, Sandra (Bruce) Taylor, Cheryl (Jonathan) Artis,
Brenda (Aubrey) Epps and Dorothy (Jason) Wallace; one sister, Julia
Smith; twenty-one grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two
nephews; one niece; as well as a host of other loving relatives and
friends.
