Wilie (Bea” Walton was born August 11,
1924, to the late Mattie and Charlie Hamm, Sr., in Glen Rodgers,
West Virginia. She was the oldest of four children. The Hamm
family settled in Beards Fork, West Virginia, in the early 1930s.
Bea professed Christ as her Savior when she was a young adult. She
attended Simmons High School where she excelled in her academic
studies.
Bea married the love of her life, the
late Latel Walton, Sr., on October 11, 1942. She was a devoted
mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed traveling,
especially to Virginia Beach, Virginia. She was truly ecstatic when
she experienced a Caribbean Cruise with her family. She also
enjoyed being with family and friends, and playing with her new
puppy ChaCha.
Her proudest moments came when she
witnessed her grandchildren achieving the levels of Doctor, Police
Officer, Naval Seal, Information Technology Engineer, Videographer,
several Administrators, a Salesperson, and an Entrepreneur.
Bea was preceded in death by her sister,
Irene; brother, Charles; and grandchild, Scott.
On February 8, 2010, Bea went peacefully
to her eternal resting place. Those left to cherish her memory are
