HELEN "SHUG" LOFTON, 93, It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Helen “Shug” Lofton, age 93, of Grain Valley, MO. Helen passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 30, 2026, with family present.

Helen resided in Cleveland, Ohio, for over 56 years on Whitethorn Avenue, with her husband Willie Lofton Jr., Helen relocated to Grain Valley, MO, with her niece and family after the death of her husband in 2018. Helen has been with the Ohio Department of Mental Health for 30 years. She was also an Avon Sales representative, receiving honors as a top seller for many years.

Helen loved the Cleveland Browns and eventually became a Kansas City Chiefs fan. Helen's memory will live forever in the hearts of family and friends who loved her.

Helen survives with the devoted support of her sister Susie Williams, her Missouri Family, and several loving nieces and nephews.

Public Viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, from 12:00 am - 5:00 pm at Thomas G. Smith Funeral Home, located at 14601 St. Clair Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44110. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, Wake 10:00 am, Service 10:30 am at Thomas G. Smith Funeral Home, 14601 St. Clair Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44110. Interment will follow Service at Lake View Cemetery, 12316 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44106.
